Many of our clients have told us how fun, easy and enjoyable the design process is while working with Dominic Hagerty. Our design/build approach is a collaboration between clients, designer and team to create a home which fits and functions to each client’s specific needs, wants and must-haves. We strive to give our clients the best building experience possible.

What separates and elevates us from our competitors is our client-centric focus. We want our clients to enjoy the journey of designing and building their brand new home. There are many moving parts. Dominic and his team offer excellent communication and response time. In addition to being service-oriented, the team at HCD is highly organized and attentive to even the smallest details. This aids in offering our clients successful design/build experiences that collaboratively create solid, top-quality, energy efficient homes.

How did your business start?

Hagerty Construction & Design launched in 2016 when Dominic committed to venturing out on his own. Having over 20 years of professional experience in all levels of the construction industry, Dominic dreamt of creating a business he could pour himself into and be proud of. He desired a better life for himself and his family. With the support of his amazing wife, he took the leap and started his own company. What began with Dominic performing small jobs organically grew into what Hagerty Construction & Design has become today: a team of honest, amazingly-skilled, dedicated, creative, hard-working professionals whose mission is to design and build client’s private sanctuaries- their homes.

  • Dom Hagerty

    OWNER/CEO

    WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
    Saginaw/Bay City, Michigan; then relocated to Marquette, MI in 2001 to attend NMU.

    WHERE DID YOU GO TO SCHOOL?
    All Saints Catholic High School- Bay City, MI Northern Michigan University- Bachelor of Science in Communications

    EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY:
    Over 25 years in Construction. Started as a laborer while attending college. Quickly progressed into roles as a carpenter, foreman, trained in management, organizational systems, scheduling, estimating and design. Currently serves on the board for the UPHBA (our local Home Builders Association).

    HOBBIES AND LOVES IN LIFE:
    Spending as much time as possible with his beautiful wife Amy and 3 kids Bethany (11), Victoria (9) and Asher (7). Enjoys time traveling, coaching his kids’ sports teams, being in the woods and steelhead fishing.

    FUTURE ASPIRATIONS:
    To continue our success by designing and building top-quality, long lasting beautiful homes and spaces for people to make fond memories in.

    WHERE DID YOU GO TO SCHOOL?
    A very small school in Cooks, MI.

    EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY:
    Adam started as a Carpenter’s Assistant working for Fayette State Park at 18, moved to mason tending at the age of 21. He started as a Laborer for Sunrise Builders, gained experience for 8 years move to New Horizons, spent a few years with them and then started working at Hagerty.

    HOBBIES AND LOVES IN LIFE:
    Working with his hands: small woodworking and metal working projects. Adam loves spending time with his wife and 3 kids and also love knife making and leather work.

    FUTURE ASPIRATIONS:
    To generally be a good person, to help people and learn about Jesus.

  • Paul Bagby

    EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY:
    Paul spent 16 years as Office Manager for a Jacksonville based plumbing company and 7 years as operations manager for American Electrical Inc.

    HOBBIES AND LOVES IN LIFE:
    Any outdoor adventures and his 3 sons.

    FUTURE ASPIRATIONS:
    Make a functioning homestead on my land in Marquette County.

    1983 NMU Graduate in Advanced Carpentry Program

    EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY:
    Bill has been practicing and loving carpentry since childhood and has 39+ years experience being a licensed builder.

    HOBBIES AND LOVES IN LIFE:
    Married 40 years to the love of his life and has 3 adult sons. Bill enjoys the outdoors and spending quality time with his wife and their lake home.
